OSBORNE ADVENTURE
OSBORNE ADVENTURE
A Diagnosis Isn’t the Destination
One family. Three kids. 37,000 nautical miles to show that a diagnosis doesn’t define a life.
Our expedition includes three world record attempts, a passage from Antarctica to the Arctic, and a mission bigger than all of it: To show the world adventure belongs to everyone and that a diagnosis is only one part of the story.
“Ren’s spirit and sense of self are inspiring, but more importantly, he demonstrates for all kids that anything is possible with a little spunk and a lot of perseverance!”
- Katie Ross, M.A.T., Special Education Teacher
This expedition wouldn’t be possible without our partners.
EMPOWERING POSSIBILITY TOGETHER!
Together with the National Down Syndrome Society, we’re making history and making sure every child sees themselves in the story.
NDSS is one of the world’s leading human rights organizations advocating for people with Down syndrome. This partnership brings together their global advocacy and our lived journey, uniting decades of leadership with a mission to show what’s possible when a diagnosis doesn’t define the person but reveals their true potential.
The above video shows our preliminary automated route, while the link below lets you zoom, pan, and explore the full expedition in detail.
THIS ISN’T JUST A ROUTE. IT’S A PROMISE.
We’re taking on one of the most extreme sailing routes on Earth. A full circumnavigation that crosses every ocean, touches all seven continents, and includes a passage from Antarctica to the Arctic.
Each year, more people climb Mt. Everest than complete a global circumnavigation.
Fewer than 40 private vessels reach Antarctica.
The route from Antarctica to the Arctic is so rare, that there isn’t even a record of how many have done it.
We’re attempting all three.
This map is a promise. To go farther. Push harder. And fight for a future where adventure belongs to everyone.

TAKE YOUR CLASS ON AN ADVENTURE!
Adventure Without Boundaries is a free docuseries created especially for educators. Each short episode follows Ren, a 10-year-old with Down syndrome, as he circumnavigates the globe with his family.
Students will explore new cultures, witness real-world science in action, and discover what it means to dream big — and go after it. Along the way, your class can send in questions, receive personalized shout-outs, and see that there's no one way to live a meaningful life, regardless of ability or disability.
This isn’t about what makes Ren different. It’s about what makes him unstoppable.
Sailing for Science and Ocean Conservation
Beneath the surface of this expedition is a deeper mission, one that extends far beyond our family.
As a proud member of The International SeaKeepers Society’s DISCOVERY Fleet, Salome is more than a sailboat. She is a floating research platform helping scientists protect our oceans. From collecting critical data in remote waters to engaging classrooms in real-time ocean science, we are turning every mile into an opportunity for discovery.
Explore the conservation efforts powering our voyage and see how one family can help protect a planet.

THIS WEEK ON THE OSBORNE ADVENTURE PODCAST
NEW EPISODES EVERY THURSDAY!
On this episode of the Osborne Adventure Podcast, Val and I sit down for part two of our conversation about fear, and this one goes deeper.
We’re not just talking about storms or seasickness. We’re talking about what it means to risk everything as a family. What if we hate it? What if the kids hate it? What if something goes wrong and we can’t take it back? From Val’s fear of storms and medical emergencies to my fear of crew dynamics and worst-case scenarios with Ren, we try to name the things that keep us up at night, sometimes literally.
It’s raw, a little dark, and at times, weirdly funny. But that’s what it looks like when two people who’ve lived through some things let their inner voice come out. No drama. Just honesty.
